“The Deer Valley Lodges are FABULOUS (I was able to look at all four while staying in Whitetail) and the views from all four are FANTASTIC. Both of our Hosts, Anne and Lynn, do an amazing job. They really are exceptional and quite a winning team for Quintess. The weather in Deer Valley is gorgeous all the time. The lodges are an easy 40 minutes from the Salt Lake City airport, which is so nice since we were traveling with children. And there is so much to do with children. We went to the Park City Mountain Park where they have Alpine slides, rides for small children, and huge inflatable toys for children to play on. The Silly Sunday Market is really fun. They close most of Main Street every Sunday and have lots of different kinds of street vendors. We went to Sundance (about a 35 minutes drive) and it’s really a fun place. They have a general store, restaurant, deli, etc. We bought sandwiches and road up the mountain on their chairlift and had a picnic. We all enjoyed that. They also have a day camp for kids 5 to 12. It is only $45/day and I thought that looked like it could be really fun since it looked like they did a lot outside. I would definitely try that for a day if all of the kids were that age. You could put the kids in camp and spend the day there doing things. They had lots of hiking trails and the stores and restaurant were fun. I think there are also some artists’ studios there but we didn’t have time to explore the entire area. It is a beautiful setting. There are also some great waterfalls on the highway where lots of people had stopped to wade and picnic. We stopped at the Heber Valley Railroad on our way to Sundance because it was Bennett’s second birthday and he loves trains. They have both 90-minute and three-hour train rides. We didn’t do that because we thought that would be too long for the boys, especially Bennett. The train looks pretty old and it looked like most of the people ride in this open car. We saw it when we were driving on the highway and decided that we were glad that we hadn’t done it. They do have a little railroad station and a parked train car that you can go in. It was mostly a tourist stop but kind if fun. I can’t wait to go back to Deer Valley in just a few weeks, and Jenny and the girls are so excited. I will definitely go back to Sundance with them. A nice detail of note; I was able to leave quite a few clothes there for when I return – really convenient!” Member Judy Manka, Hutchinson, Kansas, four years as a Quintess member.
